Rodriguez-Rey wins Carrera Los 80 in Jerez

Carrera Los 80 had two races held together with the combined starting grid of the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade de Clássicos and the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade 1300 at the renowned circuit of Andalusia.

For Diogo Ferrão, CEO of Race Ready, the Jerez Classic was 'an opportunity to provide our drivers with a different experience, with a sprint format and integrated into a very diversified grid. In the next race, at Jarama, Carrera Los 80 returns to its normal format, with two 40-minute races, in one of the most anticipated events of the year for those who enjoy driving cars built in these significant decades.'

Victor Rodriguez-Rey and Javier Rodriguez-Rey had a perfect weekend, winning both races behind the wheel of their Renault Clio-run by RRB Competición, even achieving a seventh place overall against competition equipped with much more powerful cars and slick tires, unlike Carrera Los 80, which uses Toyo tires.

The BMW 325i E36 driven by 'Teo' Antonio, a regular driver in the competition promoted by Race Ready, was another protagonist of the weekend, finishing second in both races. Completing the podium was another car from the Munich-based manufacturer.

The third position on the podium turned out to be a duel between two BMW 325i E30s prepared by RodaClássica. The French duo Jean-Philippe Imperato and François Wales returned to Carrera Los 80 after their debut in the category during the 250 km Estoril weekend at the end of last year. In this particular battle, Imperato and Wales came out on top against Jean-Marc Finot and newcomer Andreas Kunert.

The Honda Civic EG6, supported by the Eficar Team and highly appreciated by enthusiasts of Japanese cars, driven by the Spanish duo Juan Alonso Catalá/Gonzalo Alonso Catalá, finished in fourth place in the second race, after retiring in the first.

The next race of Carrera Los 80 will take place at one of the most anticipated events of the year at the Circuito del Jarama, as part of the Jarama Classic program, on the weekend of June 15th and 16th.
