Historic Endurance returns to the present in Navarra

* "Espíritu del Jarama" cancelled

* Historic Endurance returns to Los Arcos race circuit

* HGPCA Pre '66 GP F1s joins HE

"Modern Meets Classic" - Historic Endurance will return this year to the modern Circuit of Navarra in Spain, where it will again be joined by HGPCA Pre '66 GP.

Due to the cancellation of the 4th edition of the "Espíritu del Jarama" due to the Spanish promoter's inability to organise the event at the circuit on the outskirts of Madrid, Race Ready has maintained its commitment to hold two Historic Endurance races in Spain this season. Therefore, on the same weekend for which the visit to Jarama was scheduled, 22 and 23 October, the most prestigious classic car competition on the Iberian Peninsula will visit the Spanish circuit inaugurated in 2010.

Located near the town of Los Arcos, some 20 km from Logroño, a town renowned for its gastronomic tourism and for being the centre of the famous Rioja wines, the 3.933 km FIA Grade 2 circuit is renowned for its fast corners 1 and 4. Although it is best known for hosting two-wheeled events, the race track in northern Spain has hosted popular championships in the past decade, such as the FIA GT1 Championship, Superleague Formula or the Peter Auto classics competitions.

In partnership with Historic Grand Prix Car Association, the HGPCA Pre '66 Grand Prix single seaters - cars that took part in Grand Prix events up to 1966 - will make their debut at the Spanish circuit. This will be the first time that the Circuit de Navarra will host single seater Grand Prix cars, which celebrate the glamour of motor racing from the 1950s and 1960s, an era of innovation that helped to educate new generations of motorsport fans in the past.

Diogo Ferrão, CEO of Race Ready, said: "We would have loved to have returned to Jarama, however, due to circumstances beyond our control, this visit has been forced to be postponed to a later date. We wanted to keep our commitment to our teams and drivers, and on the same date we will visit one of the safest and most modern circuits in the Iberian Peninsula. We were very well welcomed four years ago and promised to return one day. It couldn’t be better than to do so now in the company of HGPCA Pre '66 Grand Prix single-seaters."

After the successful rounds in Pau and Spa-Francorchamps, the Iberian Historic Endurance series will be part of the Algarve Summer Party race weekend on July 30 / 31 at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (Portugal).
