The iconic Historic Endurance race will be held on 2-3 December at the Estoril
The main race of the Iberian Historic Endurance, the 250 km of Estoril, two races of Carrera Los 80 and the final race to decide the titles of Group 1 Portugal, initially scheduled for November 25th and 26th, were rescheduled for the following weekend, the first one of December.
This change of dates was due to the high risk of not providing the best conditions in terms of timing and paddock organisation for those involved, which could jeopardise the quality of an event that today enjoys a marked status not only in national but also international motorsport.
Organised for the first time in 2013, as a support event for the late VdeV, later to become part of the Estoril Racing Festival, the 250 km of Estoril is already the reference event for the closing of the classics season in the Iberian Peninsula. The more than four dozen cars present, its "Le Mans style" start, the end of the race at nightfall on Saturday or the end of season prize giving that follows, made this race one of those events that drivers from all over Europe don't want to miss.
In addition to the 250 km of Estoril and the two 40-minute Carrera Los 80 races, the programme for the weekend of 2 and 3 December will also include several other on and off-track activities, such as the two-hour Group 1 Portugal race, a Formula Vee exhibition and initiatives targeted at classic car clubs.
Diogo Ferrão, Race Ready CEO, said, "everyone knows the enormous effort I make to never have to change the calendars initially released. However and fortunately, all the competitions present at last year's event grew, and if last year we already encountered logistical and scheduling difficulties to organize the end of season event in Estoril, this year, due to the expected number of entries, it became impossible to organize it with the quality that everyone expects from us. By having the weekend dedicated to the 250 km of Estoril, we have the possibility to perform some surprises that will give even more charisma to the race."
The Estoril 250 km event will feature timed practice for all competitions on Saturday, as well as the Historic Endurance race that ends at sunset. On Sunday, the two Carrera los 80 races will take place, as well as the 2 Hour race, which usually decides the titles, of Group 1 Portugal.
